Rishikesh day trip from Haridwar
Rishikesh is about 20 km upriver from the hotel, where the Ganga leaves the mountains. One day is enough for the ghats, an ashram and the evening aarti.

A simple plan
- Morning: start early. Walk across Ram Jhula or Janki Setu and along the ghats on the far bank.
- Late morning: visit Parmarth Niketan, or the Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia), which is ticketed and lies inside the tiger reserve.
- Afternoon: lunch at a riverside café, then rafting if it is in season.
- Evening: the aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth Niketan, then drive back.
Good to know
- The old Laxman Jhula bridge is closed. Ask locally about the current crossing points.
- Rafting stops during the monsoon. Book only with registered operators and wear the life jacket.
- Like Haridwar, Rishikesh is vegetarian and alcohol-free.
- Weekend traffic between the two towns can double the journey time.
